An exciting opportunity has arisen for a junior business analyst to join a complex and growing business and expand their skills.  A 1 year contract, the analyst will act as a business partner to internal departments in order to review the performance of the business and support the strategic direction of the division. 

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver a comprehensive review of business performance that analyses and highlights underperforming areas of the business that require attention by management.
• Undertake root cause analysis to understand issues identified and develop solutions with the business to improve performance
• Work with the business and finance to identify, implement and track simplification and value add activities in order to drive improved performance
• Work with the business to identify their management information needs that will be delivered by the finance team
• Identify key financial and management information required by the business to support decision making and work closely with finance team to develop appropriate reports.
• Work closely with the business and the finance team to develop a robust business and operating plan that links with the divisional strategy.
• Prepare rolling forecasts based on clear methodologies, highlighting key threats and opportunities to the achievement of the budget.
• Meet regularly with unit managers to review financial and operational performance.
• Support the operations area in developing business cases for additional expenditure.
• Work with the operations and finance team to develop new reports to enhance the relevance, accuracy and timeliness of the information to operation staff.
• Support Finance Team in developing robust standard costs which can be used for planning.
• Actively participate in projects as required.
• Provide support and back-up to the Head of Finance and Finance team as required.

Candidate Requirements:

• Preferably part-qualified accountant with 1-2 years business or financial analysis experience
• Strong business and commercial skills (financial and technical)
• Project and Process management experience
• Strong financial and analytical skills  
• Very strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
