Our client is an Irish owned organisation supplying a specialist range of healthcare products to clients across Ireland and the UK. Within the organisation, there is a focus on quality and “best practice” that has set them apart from their competitors.

The business is a competitive results-driven organisation who is achieving revenue and market share growth year on year. They wish to appoint a Financial Controller who will take ownership of the financial function within their business.

This is a maternity cover role for 9 – 12 months. 

Position: Financial Controller/ Commercial Business Partner

Working as part of the leadership team, the role will report to the Managing Director and will involve:

Monthly & Annual Reporting

  • Preparation of detailed monthly pack for presentation to Board and external stakeholders
  • Provide monthly KPIs and commentary for management group
  • Year-end annual accounts & liaison with auditors
  • Managing working capital
  • Ad hoc reporting as required to Board
  • Managing finance team


  • Overseeing preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Reviewing actual company results Vs Budget & forecasts
  • Monitoring operating and project costs
  • Lead cost improvement initiatives
  • Overseen and manage supply chain
  • Provide appraisal support for new business growth initiatives & investments
  • Pricing: support pricing policy and review profit per product & contract
  • Control Capital and Marketing spend
  • Develop and improve reporting and IT systems
  • New Product Development: Provide support on pricing and viability analysis of new products

Candidate Profile

Applicants must be senior qualified Accountants with a number of years post qualification experience preferably within an FMCG multinational environment. They must have excellent accounting skills combined with good interpersonal skills. Candidate will have lots of contact with the leadership team and with non-finance staff within the organisation, therefore, should have excellent interpersonal skills.
