Medical Claims Assistant

Our healthcare sector client based in North Dublin is currently seeking tor recruit a Medical Claims Assistant on a permanent basis. This role is in the Finance Medical Claims Department but has the potential to diversify as the role grows.  The role will focus initially on collating and verifying details on patient claims for submission to the Insurers, with a view to management of this role.  This is a fast moving and challenging environment and would suit a motivated individual with good numeric/analytic skills and excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation, monitoring and completion of all In Patient/Day Case Surgical Insurance claims to all Insurers.
  • Ensuring  claims are accurately completed and supporting documentation are appended to the claim to allow full payment be made by the insurer
  • Investigate, follow up and resolve all un-paid claims and re-submit with a view to obtaining payment in a timely manner
  • Reconcile all insurers accounts on a monthly basis and provide a status report on all outstanding claims
  • To liaise with all relevant personal to ensure paperwork is received by the Claims/Billing Team in a timely manner
  • To ensure Insurance billing is correctly billed by Billing Provider prior to submission to Insurer
  • Ad hoc duties to be performed as and when required, including cover for other members of Finance



  • Minimum of 3 years accounts experience either as a standalone role or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of Excel, Word and a good knowledge of working on a Finance System
  • Disciplined, Organised and Meticulous – this role requires strict accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working within a pressurised deadline driven environment
  • Accounts/Claims experience within a hospital environment advantageous
  • Must have the ability to interact successfully with non-financial personnel as well as with Consultant Suites and other staff
  • Must be able to work as part of a highly organised team and on own initiative

This is a full time permanent role. Salary comensurate with experience.
