Reflecting on 35 years of recruitment for the accountancy industry in Ireland
As we begin 2026, it’s a time to reflect on the year that has gone, and in the case of Accountancy Solutions, 35 full years that have passed since our founding. There have been many, many changes to both the accountancy industry and recruitment in general in that time. We started off in an era where fax machines and newspaper advertisements were the order of the day and the idea of job boards and LinkedIn were far in the future. It goes without saying that the first half of this decade has been a turbulent one for all industry, and recruitment is no exception. Online meetings were once a novelty, they are now the norm. We have seen these changes too when it comes to candidate expectations; just six years ago the idea of working from home, even on a blended basis, would have been a luxury rather than commonplace. Indeed, a high proportion of newer entrants to the job market know not any different.
