Our client is a high end indigenous business manufacturing and distributing a unique range of products throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom. Within the business there is a focus on quality and “best practice” that has set them apart from competitors. As an organisation they are competitive and results driven, achieving revenue and profitability growth year on year. They wish to appoint an Accountant to join their Finance team. 

Accountant 

Working effectively as No2 to the Financial Controller the role will involve: 

• Preparation of quarterly managements accounts and variance analysis
• Key contributor to the annual budgeting and forecasting process
• Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing year end and liaison with company’s auditors
• Ensuring effective internal controls are in place and ensuring compliance with regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting
• Overseeing Banking, intercompany and sales analysis reporting
• Participate with ongoing development and review of accounting and ERP systems, internal controls, and processes
• Monitor stock levels and coordinating stocktakes
• Groupwide VAT Returns
• Weekly reporting on payroll costs
• Participation in various costing exercises and other projects on an ad hoc basis

Candidate Profile 

Role will suit a qualified accountant with a number of years post qualification experience within a quality well run business or a larger accountancy firm. Will suit a pro-active candidate who is comfortable interacting at senior levels within a business. Candidate should have excellent IT and inter-personal skills and a pro-active “can do” attitude. Exposure to fast paced indigenous manufacturing, retail or FMCG distribution company, would be a distinct advantage. Role will also suit a practice trained candidate making their first move into industry. 

Remuneration 

This is a key position within the Finance team and the candidate will gain excellent commercial experience supporting the FC and key members of the leadership team. Company will offer a package reflecting the importance of the role within the organisation.
