Our client focuses on sustainability and working towards a greener environment. They are now seeking an Assistant Accountant who will report to the Financial Controller and assist with daily and monthly financial duties.  This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Technician or Part-Qualified Accountant who wishes to develop their knowledge and skills in a positive and friendly organisation.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Controller with preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory accounts
  • Solely responsible for Accounts Payable function, to include monthly processing and posting and maintaining the Accounts Payable Ledger ensuring that payments are made to suppliers on time & dealing with payment or account queries
  • Support the Financial Controller in preparation of budget and forecasting reports
  • Weekly Bank Reconciliations on main bank account, with monthly reconciliation on all other bank accounts and month end sign off on each
  • Payment of Invoices on a monthly basis
  • Input Monthly Nominal Ledger Journals
  • Preparation and submission of Revenue Returns and CSO returns
  • Liaising with Auditors at year end to ensure that the annual audit is completed in an efficient manner
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required

Candidate Requirements:

  • Part-qualified Accountant or qualified Accounts Technician
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in accounts payable essential
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations
  • Strong IT skills with experience in MS Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Business Central an advantage
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite, notably Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in English essential
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
