Our client is a highly successful Engineering company who are experiencing a period of substantial growth. As a result they now require an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This role will involve significant interaction with senior management with a focus on accounts receivable and reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a Part-Qualified Accountant or Accounts Technician to join a busy company and gain good solid accounts experience. 

Role Responsibilities:

• Setup and process contracts and invoices on project and accounting software
• Ensure transactions comply with applicable procedures and rates
• Liaise with Project Directors on billing projections and invoicing
• Request further billing information from internal/external parties as required
• Provide prompt and courteous responses to issues raised
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues in a timely manner
• Assist with the Credit Control function
• Cash Application
• Project profitability reporting
• Assist in month-end reporting

Requirements:

• Part-Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Demonstrate knowledge of revenue billing practices and proficient in data entry
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task
• Experience of working in a pressurised environment in conjunction with Senior Management
• Demonstrate solid problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach towards investigating and resolving customer queries
• Proficient with Microsoft office, and in particular, advanced MS excel skills
• Experience of Sage 50 accounting is desired
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment but also on own initiative
