Company Accountant, Retail 

Client Profile

Our client is a growing business within the retail sector, they are seeking to appoint a Qualified Accountant to manage the a-z of finance in a standalone position reporting to the General Manager. This role will report to the GM of the business supporting across all areas of finance and providing financial reporting packs to the Board.  

Position Profile: Company Accountant 

This role will be responsible for the production of monthly financial information and managing the ongoing day to day finances and providing a strategic input into solid finance backed decision making. This role will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team.  It is an exciting time to join and will allow the incumbent to take full ownership of the finance function.  

Some of the duties will include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts with commentary and analysis
• Pofitability analysis
• Accounts payable and receivable
• Management of bank accounts 
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Year end activities
• Review and improve financial policies and procedures
• Tax and statutory compliance
• Sales and KPI analysis
• Margin and profitability reporting
• Implement new finance ERP
• Ad hoc duties 

Role has the ability to provide hybrid working if desired. 

 Candidate Profile:

• Similar experience in an SME
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Retail experience desirable  
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
