Our client is one of the leading solar developers in the UK and Ireland. They have successfully delivered 230MW of solar energy across various locations, providing the equivalent of 75,000 homes with clean energy annually. The company has successfully obtained planning permission for 800MW across more than 60 projects with a further 3GW+ of projects at late stage development across the UK, Ireland and Australia.
The company, whose Irish office is based in Dublin. is undergoing rapid expansion and is looking to add to its already experienced finance team.
The Role:
The company is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant, on a permanent basis, reporting to the Financial Controller and Head of Finance. Your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Managing the day to day finance functions, including oversight of other staff in the accounts payable/ receivable, review reconciliation of all bank accounts, oversight of Intercompany invoicing;
- Balance sheet maintenance and reconciliation on a monthly basis;
- Preparation of monthly individual and consolidated management accounts with variance analysis for 5 entities and a number of SPV entities;
- Contribute to Board and external reporting requirements;
- Review and submission of VAT returns to tax advisor for Irish and UK entities;
- Co-ordinate and prepare annual audit pack for external auditors;
- Review of internal financial controls;
- Project budget to actual monthly analysis, including liaising with engineering teams regarding project budgeting and progress;
- Maintain reconciliation of project work in progress;
- Preparing project appraisal reviews for prospective new projects/ markets.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
- ACA/ACCA qualification;
- Experience in monthly/ quarterly management accounts prep through to consol extremely desirable;
- Experience in tax compliance under CT, VAT and PAYE/PRSI;
- Experience in cash flow forecasting across multiple projects concurrently;
- Advanced Excel skills;
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to engage immediately across a variety of teams;
- Ability to work on own initiative as part of a growing finance team and company overall;
- Multicurrency and multi-jurisdiction experience.
Salary of c. €55k/60k with benefits (post probation) of bonus, pension, 25 annual leave days. Hybrid working will also be offered.
