Our client is a recently established Electrical and Mechanical engineering business who are managing multiple construction projects across Ireland and Europe, for large high profile corporations. Within the business there is a focus on quality and “best practice”. As an organisation they are competitive, and results driven. As part of their development, they are looking for an experienced accountant to play a key role on their leadership team. 

Financial Controller (new position)   

Primarily supporting the business owners / directors the role will involve:

• Preparation of monthly managements accounts
• Ensuring effective internal controls are in place and ensuring compliance with regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting
• Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process
• Preparation of profitability reports on a project by project basis including revenue recognition calculations
• Managing year end audit and liaison with company’s auditors
• Weekly reporting on banking, cash and debtors
• Participate with ongoing development and review of internal controls, and processes
• Preparational of payroll and reporting on payroll costs
• Participation in various costing exercises and other projects on an ad hoc basis

Candidate Profile 

Role will suit a qualified accountant with a number of years post qualification experience within a quality well run business. Candidates should be pro-active and comfortable interacting with business owners / directors. They should have excellent IT and inter-personal skills and a pro-active “can do” attitude. Experience within a fast paced indigenous / SME business i.e. construction or engineering would be a distinct advantage.
