Our client is a multi-branch specialist retail business, experiencing a period of growth. Led by an entrepreneurial management team, who’s ongoing investment in the most up to date retail and online facilities, combined with constant drive for best practice, has let to them being viewed as a leading player within their industry sector. They wish to recruit a Head of Finance who will join their leadership team to manage their finance function and drive financial strategy within the business. 

Head of Finance 

The role will involve the following: 

• Work with the leadership team to implement strategy in line with companies goals
• Management and development of the finance team
• Work with leadership team to drive growth
• Take ownership of annual budgets, forecasts and rolling business plans
• Provide support to the Directors to enable strategic decision making
• Oversee preparation of monthly management information
• Ongoing development and review internal controls and processes
• Manage relationship with Auditors and ensure organisation is compliant with Taxation and Statutory obligations
• Optimise working capital to support operational needs and business growth.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Continued development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.
• Working with the IT team and 3rd party companies to ensure the ongoing delivery and continuous improvement of a reliable and resilient IT infrastructure

Candidate Profile 

The role represents an excellent opportunity for a pro-active finance professional to play a key role within the leadership team of this progressive retail business. Ideal candidate will be accountant with a number of years’ experience at a senior level within a quality well run business.  Role will suit a candidate who is comfortable interacting at senior levels within a business and has a proven track record of supporting a business grow and achieve its business and financial objectives. Candidate should have excellent IT and inter-personal skills and a “can do” attitude. Working experience within a fast paced retail or FMCG, business would be a distinct advantage.
