Management Accountant

Our client a well know and established Charity based in the city centre who offer Hybrid working are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager role will involve:

 

Main Duties

  1. Work within the framework of the overall objectives of the organisation
  2. Work within the finance department and assist the finance team as required.
  3. Processing of monthly income journals to finance system, and review of reconciliation of finance system to CRM donor database. Review of monthly grant income recognition entries on finance system.
  4. Monthly Management Accounts:
  • Distribution of monthly management accounts for fundraising departments
  • Regular liaison with budget holders regarding management accounts.

   5. Revenue Compliance – preparation and submission of VAT and RCT returns.

   6. Review of monthly supplier account reconciliations.

   7. Balance Sheet account reconciliations and related journals.

   8. Procurement:

  •  Review existing cost lines under a value-for-money exercise
  • Manage evaluation process for new suppliers

  9.  Support for junior staff members on team

 10. Any other ad-hoc duties as agreed with the Head of Finance.

 

Other

  1. To participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with the Head of Finance.
  2. To be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or Health & Safety Representative

 

Essential Criteria

 

  • Proven experience of working within a finance team, with relevant on the job experience to match JD (minimum 5 years)
  • Minimum Accounting Qualification – ACCA/ACA/CIMA or Accounting Technician
  • Excellent administration, organisational and numerical skills
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate confidentially with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to innovate and self-motivate in a busy environment

 

 

Desirable Criteria

 

  • Experience of working in the voluntary sector
  • Experience of staff management and support
  • Experience of working with Business Central/MS Dynamics/Solver
