Our client is a well-established, thriving organisation operating in the Construction sector for over 60 years.  With multiple ongoing projects, they are in an expansion phase and as a result require a commercially focused accountant to join their team.  Reporting to the CFO & Operations Director, the accountant will play a key role in the continued development of the business. 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with all departments and senior leadership to communicate financial information
• Oversee and uphold the accuracy of accounting software, while participating in its ongoing enhancement.
• Assist in compiling monthly management accounts and preparing reports for the senior leadership team.
• Play a key role in the creation and oversight of financial systems and policies.
• Evaluate costs and revenues, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
• Ensure compliance with revenue regulations across the business, including taxes, VAT, and RCT.
• Assist in facilitating the annual audit process.
• Build expertise in specific construction finance matters and provide support as needed.
• Offer assistance to the payroll department in its operations.

Experience:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years accountancy experience
• Experience within the construction sector is an advantage
• Proficiency in IT systems, particularly with MS Excel and Accounting Software packages.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks.
• Ability to work on own initiative and also be a key team member.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English required along with excellent communication & interpersonal skills
