Our client is a successful start-up operating within the engineering sector.  Currently experiencing a growth in new business, they now require a Newly Qualified Accountant to progress to manage & develop the finance function.  Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a broad hands-on role. As the candidate will be joining at a stage when the company is relatively young and in development mode, the role represents an opportunity to “add value” and make a strong contribution to the continued growth of the business.  Offers significant upward career progression.

Duties will include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for group companies.
• Assist senior management with budgeting, systems development, and tax planning activities across the group 
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reconciled accurately and on a timely basis.
• Manage inter-company
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies
• Ongoing review and improvement of Internal Financial Controls
• Management and development of the finance team
• Ensure organisation is compliant with Taxation and Statutory obligations
• Manage Year-end Audit and interaction with auditors
• Other ad hoc duties and projects as required

Candidate Profile

• Role will suit a pro-active candidate who is comfortable interacting at senior levels within a business.
• Candidate should be a qualified accountant with a keen desire to progress to FC level.
• Excellent IT and inter-personal skills and a pro-active “can do” attitude.
