The Company:

Our client is a growing SME operating in the hospitality sector.  They have ambitious plans for growth into 2024 and are seeking to expand their finance team with the addition of an Assistant Accountant who will have a high-profile role in a small Finance team. This is a varied role with senior level interaction and working closely with a Qualified Accountant.  This is an ideal opportunity for a Part-Qualified Accountant to join a dynamic organisation and build on their current experience. 

Role Responsibility:

• Assist with the preparation of Accounts to include P&L / Balance Sheet
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Responsible for variance analysis and reporting to senior management
• Daily posting and reconciliation of invoices and bank accounts via our accounting system Xero
• Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Expense processing
• Continuous review and improvement of processes
• Ad-hoc duties as required

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance function as an assistant accountant preferably within the hospitality sector
• P&L / Balance Sheet knowledge with working knowledge of the AR & AP reporting process
• Must have excellent attention to detail, analytical, organisational and written skills
• Ability to work in busy environment
• Strong IT skills, preferably using Xero & Microsoft 365
• Excellent communicator with fluent English required
