McElvaney Motors is a well-established Scania main dealer with branches in Dublin and Monaghan. In addition to vehicle sales, McElvaney Motors provides a comprehensive suite of aftersales services, including vehicle servicing, parts, repairs, and accessories. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our dynamic team based in Dublin.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Parts Advisor to assist our customers and support our service department. This role requires excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer needs and advise the right parts to ensure their needs are met
  • Support ongoing as well as upcoming technical and sales campaigns
  • Support the workshop with parts availability and queries.
  • Ensure stock is put away in timely manner
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and ensure timely reordering when needed.
  • Pre-picking parts in accordance with workshop schedule and customer needs
  • Forecasting stock requirements
  • Placing orders with suppliers
  • Understand and work according to parts related DOS standards
  • Handle Incoming Goods
  • Maintain a clean and organized parts department
  • Handle returns including organising the return of cores, packaging material, warranty and bought back goods
  • Provide technicians with parts related technical support
  • Provide exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Parts Advisor or in a similar role within the HGV / Motor industry is preferred
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English
  • Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
  • Experience in customer facing role
  • Good automotive technical knowledge is a distinct advantage but not essential
  • Basic computer skills essential
  • Full Clean Drivers Licence
  • Can-do attitude and common-sense approach to tasks

Hours: Monday-Friday (9am-6pm), one Saturday per month (9am-1pm)
Location: Finglas, Dublin 11
Package: Depends on Experience
Terms: Permanent
