Our client a global insurance company are looking  to recruit  a Project Accountant to join the Financial Reporting Project Team to assist the Project Manager with a new IFRS implementation. 12 month contract with possibility to extend and salary c. €60k.

The Job 

Reporting to the IFRS Finance Project Manager, this position will primarily have responsibility for preparing and implementing various policy and technical system aspects of IFRS 17. This will be an evolving role with the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the IFRS17/9 implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting of financial statement templates on the Workiva software platform reflecting new IFRS 17/9 quantitative and qualitative disclosures and presentation.
• Working with local SME’s to convert Great-West Lifeco policy positions papers to reflect local positions.
• Supporting for the IFRS Finance Project Manager on IFRS 17 technical implementation e.g. aiding in the design and testing of attributable cost allocations.
• Supporting for the IFRS Project Team on testing impact of IFRS 17 on parallel processes e.g. extracting and reconciling Solvency II data from IFRS 17 ledgers.
• Other ad hoc work as required within the team.

The Person

We are looking for a qualified accountant preferably with experience in new system/process implementation within the insurance/financial services industry.  The Ideal candidate will be/have:

• Qualified with a number of years PQE or Big 4 trained looking to move from practice to industry.
• Experience of new system implementation. (preferably kowledge of Workiva/SAP/FPSL).
• Ideally experience working in insurance/financial services.
• Experience of new IFRS implementation or similar project work .
• Experience with Financial Statements preparation.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving ability.
• Highly motivated with an ability to work to deadlines and ensure quality in every aspect of reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
