Corporate Tax Manager - Top 20 Practice

Our client is a high profile accountancy firm based in Dublin. Their tax partners who are amongst the most entrepreneurial in Ireland, head up a significant tax division, which is constantly in “expansion mode”.

They wish to recruit an experienced tax manager, who will manage a range of leading-edge planning and consultancy assignments. Assignment types will include anything from inward investment support for international clients to working with Irish groups and SME organisations on things like cash extractions, merger and acquisition tax advice and restructurings.

As the role will involve lots of senior level client interaction, the candidate should have the interpersonal skills necessary to bring in additional assignments by highlighting the various service lines within the firm. They have a well-structured Tax department which is expanding, profitable and recognised for providing solid tax-based solutions. The partners within our clients business are committed to “fast-tracking” high performers to Director and Partner level.

Position Profile

The successful appointee will work closely with their tax Partners to manage complicated and interesting consultancy assignments. The main elements of the role will include:

Consultancy

• Ability to research points quickly and arrive at solutions that work
• Close liaison with clients to identify taxation issues and opportunities
• Interacting with solicitors and bankers in finalising deals
• Corporate and personal financial structures in regard to business acquisitions/structuring and reorganisations

Business Development

• Development of “tax products” for clients
• Generating a work-in-progress that leads to recoverable fees
• Meeting fee targets
• Dealing with queries from other tax personnel and senior management/partners

Who will the role suit?

The candidate should have a number of year’s experience managing a large client allocation. This may be within a large or medium accountancy firm. The role could suit a Manager within a smaller firm who feels that they need to integrate into a larger structure to develop their career or a Manager within a Big 4 firm who feels that due to the size of their current employer upward career progression may be slower.
